SBCC 2024 EDITION - PROGRESS UPDATE
SBCC is currently adapting the JCT 2024 suites for use in Scotland, key themes that SBCC are adopting include Modernising and Streamlining, Future Proofing updates and some Legislative Changes affecting Scotland.

Minor Works Suite:
The SBCC 2024 Minor Works suite is close to publication, with digital upload and testing nearly complete. It includes three main contracts, two sub contracts, administration forms, and guidance documents. As the first full SBCC 2024 suite, it is expected to be available for purchase by the end of February 2026*.
The following contracts will be available in both digital and print formats:
- Minor Works Building Contract (MW/Scot 2024)
- Minor Works Building Contract with Contractor’s Design (MWD/Scot 2024)
- Minor Works Sub Contract with Sub Contractor’s Design (MWSub/D/Scot 2024)
- Short Form of Sub Contract (ShortSub/Scot 2024)
- Sub Subcontract (SubSub/Scot)
The following documents are also to be released with the suite and will be available to purchase in Digital format:
- MW/Scot and MWD/Scot Contract Administration Forms
- Minor Works Building Contract (MW/Scot 2024) - Tracked Change Document
- Minor Works Building Contract with contractor's design (MWD/Scot 2024) - Tracked Changed Document
The SBCC plan to hold online launch events shortly after the release of the Minor Works suite, details of these events will be published in due course.
Future Releases:
The SBCC 2024 Minor Works suite will be followed by the Design and Build and Standard Building Contract suites with expected publication currently between Spring and Autumn 2026. The remaining SBCC 2024 Edition suites will be released later in 2026 and into 2027*.
Until SBCC 2024 editions are released which contract should I be use?
For projects in Scotland, please continue using the current SBCC contract editions until the SBCC 2024 versions are released. In most cases, this will be the SBCC 2016 editions. Please note the Homeowner Contracts are not included in the 2024 update.
