SBCC 2024 MINOR WORKS SUITE - NOW AVAILABLE

The Scottish Building Contract Committee (SBCC) is delighted to announce the release of the 2024 Minor Works suite for use in Scotland.
Based on the JCT 2024 editions, the SBCC 2024 Minor Works suite has been adapted to produce contracts compliant with Scottish law and practice. This suite includes three Minor Works contracts, two associated Sub-contracts, Contract Administration forms and associated Guidance Documents. This is the first SBCC 2024 suite to be published.
The key themes that SBCC have adopted include Modernising and Streamlining, Future Proofing updates and some Legislative Changes affecting Scotland.

WHERE CAN SBCC 2024 CONTRACTS BE PURCHASED:
The following contracts are now available to purchase in Digital format from the SBCC Website, with a Full SBCC Subscription. These contracts are also available in Print format from SBCC selling agents:

- Minor Works Building Contract with Contractor’s Design (MWD/Scot 2024)
- Minor Works Sub Contract with Sub Contractor’s Design (MWSub/D/Scot 2024)
- Short Form of Sub Contract (ShortSub/Scot 2024)
- Sub Subcontract (SubSub/Scot)
Included with the 2024 Edition are the NEW SBCC Contract Administration packs and Tracked Change Documents. The following documents are now available to purchase in Digital PDF format only from the SBCC Website, with a Full SBCC Subscription:

LAUNCH EVENTS:
The SBCC plan to hold online contract launch events in the coming months, details of these events will be published in due course.
FUTURE RELEASES:
The Design and Build and Standard Building Contract suites are due for publication between Spring and Autumn 2026. The remaining SBCC 2024 Editions are due to be released later in 2026 and into 2027*.
USE OF 2024 EDITIONS AND PREVIOUS EDITIONS:
For projects in Scotland the SBCC recommend using the new SBCC 2024 editions, where they have been published. In situations where a 2024 edition has not yet been published, please continue using the most recent SBCC contract editions. In most cases this will be the SBCC 2016 editions. Please note, the Homeowner suite was recently updated to the 2021 edition and is not included in the SBCC 2024 updates.

For projects outside of Scotland, please note that JCT will be withdrawing the 2016 edition contracts from sale on 31 March 2026. To find out more visit: JCT website. SBCC 2016 Editions will continue to be available, alongside the current SBCC 2024 Editions, for 12 months following their release. After this the SBCC 2016 editions will be withdrawn from sale.
